Do you know what a codex is ? What purpose does a "case" serve ? Don't hesitate to come and visit this very particular environment. A visit to this permanent exhibition retraces the history of books, from the first printing methods to typographic book production in Voltaire's time.

Permanent exhibition

The workshop demonstrates the art of printing in the 18th century using a reconstructed wooden press of the type on which the first edition of Candide could have been printed.



Visitors are welcomed all the year:

From 2 January to 30 April and from 1st September to 31 December 2015:

Monday to Friday from 10 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.30 pm to 6 pm
Saturday from 10 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.30 pm to 5 pm
Closed on public holidays
24 and 31 December: closed



Free entrance.

Guided tours are organized by the tourist office in French on Tuesday afternoon at 14.30 during the summertime for individuals and all year round for groups upon advance reservation.
