Fort l’Ecluse

Perched on a beautiful site above the river Rhone stands Fort l'Ecluse. There are 2 000 years of history and a wealth of treasures to surprise and entertain the visitor.

This stone sentinel is witness to several centuries of military architecture - towers, turrets, loopholes, enclosed yards, watchtowers, gun emplacements, powder magazines, ...
Visiting the Fort is an opportunity to discover how the 150 men in the garrison lived, as well as the scale and diversity of the fort's defence and retreat systems.
