Ferney-Voltaire, a man-a town in French
Guided visit : Ferney-Voltaire, a man-a town
Visit Ferney-Voltaire with our guide, with the aid of a PDA or following the circuit on a map ... For you to decide what suits you best.
At the beginning of the 18th century, Fernex was only a hamlet with 100 inhabitants. From 1757 to 1778 Voltaire constructed, piece by piece, a new town. As lord of the manor he developed the town, sanitation, trades and the lines of communication. When he left, the town had more than 1,000 inhabitants. It is this evolution that we propose you discover.
