FERNEY-VOLTAIRE, A TOWN - A MAN (guided tour of the town, in English)
During the last twenty years of its life, besides sound plentiful literary production and of its correspondence, Voltaire begins the construction of a new town!
In this almighty desire to take advantage of the life, he concretizes all the philosophy of artless: he dedicates itself unguardedly to the work which " takes away from us three big troubles, the boredom, the vice and the need ". To Ferney, he creates, in a way, his small farm!
It is this evolution which we invite you to discover through the visit of the city Ferney-Voltaire, a town - a man : the area of the " miserable hamlet " of 100-150 inhabitants until the development of the city of the XVIIIth century, financed partly by Voltaire.
THE BOOK FROM EVERY ANGLE (guided tour of the printing workshop, only in French)
The workshop opens up the secrets of printing in the 18th century - see the reconstruction of a wooden press on which the first edition of Candide could have been printed.
